The Bronson Centre, located in the former Immaculata High School, first opened its doors to community service groups in July 1996. The Centre is owned and operated by the Grey Sisters of the Immaculate Conception. Space is offered to registered non-profit groups at lease rates below market value.
The core vision and values of each member must be in harmony with those of the Grey Sisters, promoting the growth of persons served while alleviating their special needs.
Together with the Grey Sisters, the members of the Bronson Centre community have built the foundation of the Centre, through the development of the vision, mission and core values, to be remembered daily as we serve those in need.
Our vision is...
"To answer the human cry for help."
As a community we support and encourage each other, and we share a common purpose: to provide educational, emotional, physical and spiritual support that empowers people to take responsibility for their lives, with renewed dignity and hope.
Our core values...
Respect for life: We value the sacredness of life, which calls us to respect the dignity of persons from conception to natural death
Equality: We value the equality of all persons, which calls us to treat one another in a respectful, non-judgmental manner, recognizing our uniqueness and interdependence, while seeking justice for all.
Diversity: We value diversity in our community, which calls us to welcome a rich mixture of members committed to sharing resources and mutual responsibility for the life of the centre and its environment.
Empowerment: We value empowerment of persons, which enables each one to reach their potential by moving forward into the future with confidence and hope.
Hospitality: We value hospitality, which fosters caring, supportive relationships, and open and honest communication, within a welcoming environment.
We value the spiritual nature of human life and seek the good of the total person (mind, body and spirit).
